Florida minimum wage for hospitality workers (2026)

Last checked: October 25, 2026

Since September 30, 2026, Florida's minimum wage has been $15.00 an hour. It stays at that rate until December 31, 2027.

Tipped employees must be paid at least $11.98 an hour in cash wages, plus tips. Employers can count up to $3.02 an hour of tips toward the $15.00 minimum. If a worker's cash wage plus tips comes to less than $15.00 an hour, the employer must make up the difference.

The rate reached $15.00 through a constitutional amendment Florida voters approved on November 3, 2020, which raised the minimum wage every September until 2026. From September 2027 it will be adjusted each year for inflation, with each new rate taking effect the following January 1.

Employers must not retaliate against an employee for asserting their right to the minimum wage. An employee who hasn't been paid the minimum wage can notify their employer and, if it isn't resolved within 15 days, bring a civil action.
